quick...tipping for maid

Our maid is here and leaving soon. I pay her $85 every two weeks. I want to tip her for the holidays. How much should I give??

Re: quick...tipping for maid

  • We gave ours what we pay her for one session of cleaning.  So $70 extra for Christmas.

We don't have her anymore though since we moved.... and oh, how I miss her!

  • I think my mom gives about $20 for the holidays as well.

  • On a side note, we felt as though we should give her more becasue she was an individual cleaning lady and did not work for a service.  If she had been working for a service and had others helping her clean our house or hadn't been the one who always cleaned our house, etc... we might have given her less.

  • I gave 50$ and then the regular 20 for the house being extra messy

  • I always tip mine an extra session (so pay her double one time per year). But she is not through an agency - just on her own. I don't know that I'd do that for a service where it's different people each time. hope that helps!
