Reach out! Reach out! Myyy brothers and sisters, reach out!

In loving and caring

In giving and sharing

Reach out together, reach out!

For some reason I just thought of this song we used to sing in chapel back in elementary school.  I sometimes wonder if anyone else sang the same retarded songs we did.

  • Nah, not the whole thing.  But now that song "reach out" by the Four tops is stuck in my head.
  • oh okay.

We also had The king of glory comes, the nation rejoices! Open the gates before him, lift up your voices! Everyone really liked that one, because we got to clap and shout.  We also sang a really pretty song w/ the Prayer of St. Francis as the lyrics.  But most of the songs were silly.

Crap, now it's stuck in my head.  I hate it when I get oldies stuck in my head.

  • Totally.  And this one is playing extra loud for some reason.  Make it stop!
  • OH MY GOSH!! I used to sing this in school at Our Lady of Guadalupe!
I was trying to find the lyrics to the song that is how I found this post!

Reach Out In The Darkness comes to mind...not the same lyrics you just named but that's what son came to mind for me; lyrics are similar in some parts.

We had the same stale chorus songs year in year out..."Where Have All The Flowers Gone" was one of them.

"I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing" was another one they used. (The same song from the so-called outstanding Coke commercial. Never liked the song or The New Seekers.")

I remember one year they actually indulged in songs by "Up With People." heheh "Up With People...." Ugh.....Up With People was one of these dumb musical ensenbles that traveled as a group and tried to spread goodwill with their music and songs...and "message."
